Xfinity Gateway Light Meaning: Every Color Explained
Your Xfinity Gateway has one small light on the front. Its color and whether it blinks tell you if you're online, and it means the same thing on every Xfinity Gateway. Here's what each one means.
What the light means
| Light | What it means |
|---|---|
![]() Solid white | All good. Your gateway is on and working. A slight purple tint to the white is normal too. |
![]() White during setup | It's only partly working because it isn't activated yet. Finish the setup steps in the Xfinity app. |
![]() Solid red | No internet. The gateway can't connect to Xfinity, so get in touch with them if it stays red. |
![]() Blinking blue | WPS mode. It's waiting to pair with a device, and it goes back to white once that device connects. |
![]() Blinking amber | There's an outage on Xfinity's network. If you have the Pro WiFi Extender, it keeps you online over its backup connection. |
![]() No light | The gateway is off. |
If the light shows any other color
Xfinity says any other color, or a mix of colors, means the gateway is still connecting to its systems. Give it about 15 minutes to finish. If you still can't get online after that, contact Xfinity.
