Jio, Airtel and Vi voice-only recharge plans
Last updated: October 31, 2026
If you only use your SIM for calls, or you keep a second SIM just so the number stays active, paying for data you never touch makes no sense. Jio, Airtel and Vi all sell plans with only unlimited calls and SMS, and no data. Here is every one of them side by side, so you can pick the cheapest one for how often you want to recharge.

Cheapest voice-only plan
Jio is the cheapest at every validity. Its 28-day plan is ₹177 against ₹185 on Airtel and Vi, and its 84-day plan is ₹448 against₹469 and ₹470. Jio also has the cheapest plan you can buy, ₹147 for 22 days, which is handy if you just want to keep a number alive for a few weeks.
The yearly plans are where it flips. Airtel and Vi charge ₹1,849 for 365 days, which works out to about ₹152 a month and is the lowest cost per day of any plan here. Jio's ₹1,748 is ₹101 cheaper upfront, but it lasts 336 days, so you recharge about a month earlier.
Honestly, if you are already on one of these networks, stick with it. The gap between them is under ₹10 a month, which is not worth porting your number for. What matters more is the length: the 84-day and yearly plans cost about ₹30 to ₹50 a month less than the monthly ones.
Before you recharge
- These plans have no data. Turn mobile data off on that SIM, because Vi charges 50 paise per MB on its voice-only plans, and Jio does not let you add a data pack to them.
- The SMS limit is for the whole plan, not per day. After it runs out, Vi charges ₹1 for a local SMS and ₹1.5 for STD.
- A 1 calendar month plan renews on the same date every month, while a 28-day plan comes up about 13 times a year.
- Vi also has ₹140 for 15 days of unlimited calls, but only on select HMD and Nokia feature phones under its Super Saver offer.
Note: Prices are from the Jio, Airtel and Vi recharge pages as of October 31, 2026, and were the same in every circle we checked. Operators change prices often, so check the price in your app before you pay.
