Slow Wi-Fi usually has one of three causes:
- The plan. Run a speed test next to the router with a cable or right beside it. If it's slow there, talk to your provider.
- The router's place. Walls, mirrors and floors cut Wi-Fi a lot. A router in a cupboard at one end of the home won't reach the far rooms.
- An old router. Wi-Fi 5 routers struggle with many devices at once.
For bigger homes, a mesh system often helps more than a stronger single router. The Wi-Fi router checklist explains the numbers on the box: techpp.app/tool/wifi-router-buying-checklist
