Guidelines
Short on purpose. Moderators apply them with common sense.
- Be kind
- Everyone was new once. Explain instead of mocking, and disagree with ideas, not people. Harassment, hate and threats are removed and the account is banned.
- Stay on topic
- Phones, computers, gadgets, apps and this site. Not politics, chain messages or deals hunting for other people.
- No spam or self-promotion
- No ads, referral or SEO links, paid reviews, or "customer care" numbers. A moderator checks a new member's first post and any post with links before it goes live. Spam accounts are banned and everything they posted is removed.
- Keep personal details private
- Don't post your phone number, address, IMEI, order IDs, OTPs or passwords. Nobody from TechPP will ask for them. Posts that share them are removed.
- Say what you tested
- Name the model and software version you tried. If advice could lose someone's data or warranty, say so. Misleading or unsafe advice can be reported.
- Mark the answer
- When a reply fixes your problem, mark it as the answer. It helps the next person with the same question.
- Report it, don't argue
- Use Report on anything that breaks these rules. Posts that several members report are hidden until a moderator looks at them.
How moderation works
New members can start 3 discussions and post 15 replies a day; the limits go up once a few posts are approved. Breaking the rules can mean a removed post, a 7-day suspension or a ban. You can delete your account from settings at any time, and your posts stay up as “Former member”. Questions about a decision go in Site feedback.
